The weather at Kielder is very wintry; The roads are well gritted against ice and snow and are easily passable however I am keeping a close eye on how the weather develops. The situation on the road to the observatory is this; after leaving the main road (c200) you will have to drive up a grit track 1.45 miles long to the observatory. This track has 2 steep inclines the first one is 100m long the second 50m long, these can get slippery and icy, so I am heading down there now to clear them. Tonights forecast is a clear one so all efforts will be made to clear a way up to the facility so that the events can go ahead this weekend. However if you wish to re arrange your visit and would rather not risk it, then please contact us and we will be happy to re arrange your booking. Gary Fildes Director
